My Covid 19 Journey
It's been 2 years since the Covid 19 pandemic started. With the grace of God we are still here. To date we, as family, got ourselves vaccinated except for our 9 year old son. He is suppose to get his shot today but I canceled it for he is coughing.
I work in a public school as a paraeducator. We do in person teaching since the start of covid except around March - September of 2020. Then we are back in person or hybrid mode of learning. Staff were anxious, but we have to do our part in the community. We can only pray and be extra diligent in disinfecting and protecting ourselves for we are always exposed to a lot of people.
Come January 13th, I felt cold. I asked my coworker, is it cold or I am the only one who feels cold? They say, it's just ok. Kind of wondering too if I am gonna get sick because aside from feeling this chill I am ok. Thursday night. I felt chills, body aches, and head ache. No fever. January 14th, had myself tested first thing in the morning. I am waiting for the result as of now. They say to wait until Tuesday. Went home. Isolated myself in the bedroom. I am taking a lot of lemon ginger tea and drink hot or warm water. Hydrate, hydrate and keep hydrating.
It is now day 2 of manifesting symptoms. Getting more anxious for the result. I did rapid testing at home after I had my breakfast. Followed the kit direction. 15 minutes later, worst fear came true. Result, POSITIVE. Today I started having diarrhea too. I thank God no shortness of breath.
Even we are the most diligent person in following safety measures, is vaccinated, we just can't be complacent that we will not be hit by Covid. I, myself is experiencing it now. Couldn't believed it did, but yes, reality bite. I am infected with Covid 19.
Wish all the people will have themselves vaccinated. We are not guaranteed not to have it, but symptoms will be less severe.
May God keep us safe and this pandemic be over.
